I couldn’t explain to you why I like what I like. Just because I appreciate something does not make me an expert on it whatsoever, nor will I try to be. Why does there have to be a why for everything?

Anyway, so I do like some newer bands: The Growlers, Motorama, Tame Impala. I’m sure there’s more but I got into a kick trying to come up with a band that might be coming in concert that I could convince my sister into going to instead of her dragging me to see Jack Johnson. Motorama is a Russian band and seems to only be touring Europe. So that’s a no, but I just found out that The Black Angels are coming to Salt Lake City on November 5th and tickets are only $28… so, I’m going. Take that Jack Johnson.

I’m also going to go see Dead Can Dance and Agnes Obel in October. This has been postponed since April of last year. I’ve seen Dead Can Dance once and it was more like seeing a symphony. It wasn’t a regular concert. This show is in Denver but if you ever get a chance to see them live, I highly suggest it. They were one of my favorite bands in high school. You might recognize some of the music as Lisa Gerrard did a lot of the soundtrack for the movie ‘Gladiator’.
