Alma 18:26-32 (#198)

Question

You will be judged no only on your bad thoughts and intentions, but also your good thoughts and intentions. What can you do to have more good thoughts and intentions?

Scripture

26 And then Ammon said: Believest thou that there is a Great Spirit?
27 And he said, Yea.
28 And Ammon said: This is God. And Ammon said unto him again: Believest thou that this Great Spirit, who is God, created all things which are in heaven and in the earth?
29 And he said: Yea, I believe that he created all things which are in the earth; but I do not know the heavens.
30 And Ammon said unto him: The heavens is a place where God dwells and all his holy angels.
31 And king Lamoni said: Is it above the earth?
32 And Ammon said: Yea, and he looketh down upon all the children of men; and he knows all the thoughts and intents of the heart; for by his hand were they all created from the beginning.

Quote

[The] judgment will consider not only your actions, but also your innermost intent and heartfelt desires. Your everyday thoughts have not been lost. Scriptures speak of the “bright recollection” and “perfect remembrance” that your mind will provide in times of divine judgment.
The Lord knows the desires of our hearts. At the time of judgment, surely the special yearnings of single sisters and childless couples, for example, will be given compassionate consideration by Him who said:
“I, the Lord, will judge all … according to their works, according to the desire of their hearts.”
He will know of your longings as a [spouse and parent] who tried diligently to serve your family and society properly.
